On July 12th, City Hall became a thriving hub of innovation as it hosted the Port Lavaca Young Entrepreneurs Market, showcasing 21 diverse businesses operated by local youth aged 5 to 18.
This event represents a fun and inspirational initiative aimed at nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit and leadership skills of our community’s younger generation. Supported by their parents, the young entrepreneurs set up their booths, engaging in hands-on experiences that encompassed essential business skills such as financial literacy, public speaking, and customer service.
The marketplace offered an impressive range of products, including baked goods, hand-painted canvases, jewelry, crocheted items, and unique pet toys. Each sale not only contributed to the entrepreneurs’ profits but also sparked joy within the community. This event serves as a remarkable testament to the creativity and potential of our youth, laying the groundwork for their future roles as CEOs, artists, and influential leaders.
The Port Lavaca Chamber of Commerce extends its sincere gratitude to the community for their tremendous support, reinforcing the importance of fostering a culture that encourages economic development and leadership among our young leaders. The Chamber of Commerce aspires to establish this market as an annual tradition, empowering youth and preparing them for future success.
