Take a Kid Fishing at the 23rd Annual Hardhead Derby!
Get ready for a fun-filled morning at the David Heard Memorial Hardhead Derby Fishing Tournament — happening Saturday, August 2, 2025 at Bayfront Peninsula Park in Port Lavaca!
Fishing Time: 8–10:30 a.m.
Registration: Begins at 7 a.m. and ends at 9 a.m. Open to kids ages 3–16 – FREE to enter!
Bait is provided – just bring your fishing gear and lawn chairs!
Fishing Division: 1st–3rd place prizes in 4 age groups
Crabbing Division: 1st–2nd place prizes in 1 age groupRegistration is at the event – no early sign-ups required!
